Barbour Community Health Association Names Jamie Wilson Chief Behavioral Health Officer
BELINGTON, W.Va. (November 4, 2026) – Barbour Community Health Association (BCHA) has promoted Jamie Wilson, MS, CRC, LPC, to the role of Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO).
Wilson takes over for Dr. Aaron Williams, who is stepping away from his administrative leadership responsibilities to focus on clinical work and serving patients at BCHA. Williams has served as CBHO since 2017.
Wilson joined BCHA as a licensed professional counselor in 2018. During her tenure, she has served as a PsyD intern under Dr. Williams, participated in BCHA’s Emerging Leaders program, and held management and leadership roles, including serving as Director of School-Based Behavioral Health and supervising master’s level students. She also assisted with program design and staff development.
Her professional experience includes positions with United Summit Center, the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg Treatment Center and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Throughout her career, Wilson has also served as an instructor, guest lecturer and presenter at professional conferences.
A native of Chestertown, Md., and a resident of Reedsville, Wilson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in rehabilitation counseling from West Virginia University. She is currently completing a Doctor of Psychology degree from Capella University.
“This opportunity feels like the culmination of eight years of growth, hard work and investment in a community that welcomed me and became my home,” said Wilson. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the people and community that have given me so much.”
As CBHO, Wilson will be responsible for the overall management, leadership, operation, oversight, and staff supervision within BCHA’s Behavioral Health Department. She also brings clinical interests in working with teens and young adults, trauma-informed care, women’s issues, and attachment and relationship concerns.
“My primary goal in this role is to support our staff in providing high-quality, compassionate care to the residents of Barbour County and the surrounding region,” said Wilson. “When we invest in the people providing care, our patients ultimately benefit.”
Wilson succeeds Dr. Aaron Williams, whose decade of leadership helped shape and expand BCHA’s behavioral health program, including the opening of the Barbour Behavioral Health facility in 2024.
The facility is part of the Belington Medical Clinic & Wellness Center complex at 70 North Sturmer St., Belington, and has transformed BCHA’s delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services by making them more accessible, integrated, and patient-friendly.
“I appreciate the opportunity to have helped develop the Behavioral Health program over the past decade,” Williams said. “Now, I look forward to watching Jamie’s leadership take the department into its next chapter.”
BCHA provides a comprehensive range of behavioral health services, ranging from individual therapy to psychological evaluations, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, psychiatric medication management, school-based behavioral health, and telehealth appointment options.
In addition to her new responsibilities as CBHO, Wilson will continue to see patients both at Barbour Behavioral Health in Belington and the Myers Clinic in Philippi.
