Barbour Community Health Association Announces 2026 Breast Cancer Awareness Drive Thru Event

By: Barbour Community Health AssociationOctober 5, 2026

BELINGTON, W.Va. (October 5, 2026) – Barbour Community Health Association (BCHA) will host its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Drive‑Thru Event on Thursday, October 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 70 N Sturmer Street, Belington, WV. This year’s theme, Rooted in Hope, Growing in Strength, honors the deep roots of community support, the enduring power of hope, and the remarkable strength shown by survivors and fighters across Barbour County.

“Our community has always shown that strength grows when people stand together,” shared Connie Williams, Patient Assistant Coordinator/Certified Application Counselor. “Rooted in Hope, Growing in Strength reflects the courage of survivors, the determination of fighters, and the unwavering support that surrounds them here in Barbour County.”

The 2026 logo is a leafless tree with breast cancer emblem leaves and a gold base that symbolizes resilience, renewal, and the community’s commitment to standing with those affected by breast cancer. Staff will greet participants with educational materials, take‑home items, and refreshments. Flu shots will also be available for patients during the event.

All participants will be entered into a drawing held the following day for a chance to win a variety of door prizes. Door prizes will include gift cards and a Wellness Center membership. Survivors will also receive a special rose‑mirror gift as a tribute to their strength and journey.

The community is warmly invited to join the team for this meaningful annual tradition. Whether you come to honor a survivor, support a loved one, or simply stand with those affected by breast cancer, your presence strengthens the roots of hope that carry our community forward. Everyone is welcome to drive through, participate, and share in an evening dedicated to courage, connection, and care.
