Getting to Know Paige Tusing, FNP-C
Barbour Community Health Association (BCHA) is excited to welcome Paige Tusing, FNP-C, to our medical staff at the Belington Medical Clinic. A Belington native, Paige is launching her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner by returning to her hometown to help BCHA expand on its commitment to provide exceptional care across all ages with an emphasis in pediatric care.
We recently sat down with Paige to find out more about her background, how she spends her time outside of work, and what it means to come back to work where her story began—in Barbour County.
Question: Tell us about your education and your professional journey to date?
Paige Tusing: I’m originally from Belington. I moved to Morgantown for my undergraduate degree and graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2019. After graduation, I came back home and started working in the emergency department at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
I then started my master’s in nursing at West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2022 and graduated this past May. I am excited to now get to work in the same town where I grew up, and where I continue to live.
Q: Are there any areas of patient care that you’re particularly passionate about?
PT: I love seeing pediatric patients! I became really passionate about children’s healthcare after I had my son in October 2023. From birth to the teenage years, I love everything about it, and I enjoy forming those relationships with the kids and their parents. That’s what I’m most looking forward to when coming to work at the Belington Medical Clinic.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
PT: Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband and son. I like to read and go for walks with my dogs, Lola and Duke. I also love getting together with my big family for special events and occasions. It’s just the best!
Q: What’s one thing you’d like the community to know about you?
PT: I might sound like a broken record, but I am so excited to be working in the town where I was raised. I’m very thankful to have this opportunity, and I look forward to getting started in my career as a Nurse Practitioner with people I’ve known my whole life.
We at BCHA are thrilled to have Paige on our team, and we know she will help us deliver exceptional care to the families we serve. Patients can see Paige at Belington Medical Clinic or can schedule an appointment with her at 304.823.2800
